Title: Capacitor value for BeePre
Post by: Dnorris on November 21, 2014, 11:43:40 AM
BeePre build currently in progress. Parts Connexion is having a capacitor sale (seemingly perpetual) but are including some Duelands, Jensen, Mundorfs copper, silver, etc although there aren't many 10uf versions available. I've read through the capacitor threads for the BeePre and used the calculator link that seems to indicate lesser values can be used rather than the 10uf. Would it still be reasonable to use 2.2uf or 4.7uf?

What is the input impedance of your power amplifier(s)?

150k ohm,  50 watt, 6SN7300B/845 tube, 1.0 volt for full output.

2.2uF-10uF should work just fine.

If you intend to use the balanced outputs, you could buy a set of 4 caps instead of 2. If you aren't using the balanced outputs, one pair of caps is sufficient.

Thank you. Very much appreciated. I'll only be using the single ended outputs. I'm using the second set of outputs for a possible sub amp if needed in the future. Building stock first, then BeeQuiet, then will try the replacement caps after a month or two as stock. If I discern a difference, I'll post the results. Thanks again.
