Dear Forum Members
I build and checked my crack and after I turned it on the transformer had a bit of smoke coming out. I turned it off but now it instantly blows the fuses.
Any tips how to check if the transformer is broken?
Thanks and best regards

Hello Felix,
The first thing I would do is to remove the red/black twisted pair of wires from power transformer terminals 4 and 5. Next, remove the red wire that goes from power transformer terminal 9 to terminal 19 at either end.
This will unload your power transformer, and you can pop a fresh fuse in and switch the amp on. If the fuse blows, let us know, if not, we'll restore each load individually to see where the fault is.

What is the AC voltage measured at the outlet you are plugging the amp into?

Just want to let you know I'm not ignoring you. I am conferring with my guys about the next step. In the meantime, if you could measure the resistance from power transformer terminal 1 to power transformer terminal 2 that would be helpful.

No worries. Will check it tomorrow my time. My meter plays funny games since yesterday.
Many many thanks for your support.

Terminal 1 to 2 is 14 Ohm.
I have not reattached the heating circuit.

Thanks for the support! I had to replace the transformer. Now it works like a charm.
