How hard is it to find a pair of Tung-Sol 6DN7 tubes? I know they're rare, but does anyone have a line on a pair?
-
Try looking for some Hens teeth, you might have more luck....

I think I started the whole TungSol 6DN7 thing. I used a pair for years in my own S.E.X. amp. They were really only tiny bit different than the other 6DN7s.

Not too worry doc.... It's all part of the fun for me. I've got some NOS blackplate Sylvania's to try out anyway. maybe by the time I pass the breakin stage I'll find the Tung Sol's
I actually have one but the second section of the tube tests very very low so I'm assuming it's bad

Got to love your optimism :) I searched every tube reseller i could find and trawled through eBay for over a year before i finally found some. Those black plate Sylvanias are getting hard to find too, it seems to me for every 10 GE's there is 1 Sylvania, and for every 100 there is 1 Tung-Sol.

I'll find a pair eventually

I'm almost there
Got one, just need another. Almost had one twice, first time I bought an untested one for $5 and one side was bad. Second time someone beat me on a tube lot that had one nestled in a carrier in the far corner.
Hopefully I'll fill the empty box

I have a pair now. They sound great. It was definitely worth the hunt
