Hi,
I placed an order for a crack and speedball on the 8th December.
Do you know when I can expect it to be dispatched, it's over the 4-6 week dispatch time advertised and I haven't heard anything?
Thanks.

I think they're a little behind on the usual 4-6 week window due to holiday orders and special deals made in November. My hunch is that yours will be dispatched soon.
-
Thanks Sam,
I am looking forward to getting it and happy to wait a bit longer.
Bottlehead staff, why not send an email out to the people waiting explaining that there is a delay.

We have been working like crazy getting big stacks of kits out every day. Black Friday and Cyber Monday added about a month and a half of orders beyond the norm to our packing and shipping queue, in just two days. We are just about finished processing those orders. Once we get past that early December date the delivery status page will show the updates changing much more quickly and our average delivery time will shrink quite a bit.

Thanks Doc,
I have no problem waiting a bit longer, from what I have been reading it should be worth the wait. :)
Gutted to have missed out on the Black Friday deals though. :(

Best bet is to make sure you have email notifications switched on in your forum user profile. We limit the use of the forum's email blast capability to special offers. So you won't be hammered with a bunch of spam, but you will get a notice when the occasional deal is offered.

Thanks Doc, I will set it up.

Do you guys have an updated ETA for those of us waiting? For example, 8 weeks from your order date instead of the regular 4-6?
Thanks.

When I posted a couple of days ago Josh was shipping the last of the Black Friday orders. Today he is getting near the last of the Cyber Monday orders. In a normal month that would be the equivalent to the shipping queue moving forward about 2 weeks. So it's a little difficult to say "6 weeks" or whatever, because things happen more in bursts as our suppliers get the parts to us. Once again, when we are through the huge number of orders we had during those two days the lead time will drop dramatically. And we are just about through that huge batch of orders.
Josh may be able to give you a more educated estimate of delivery if we know the specifics of the order.

I know you guys update your shipping status page once a week. But does that mean you guys only ship once a week? Or do you ship during the week as well but just update the status page at the end of the week?
-
We ship every day. We update on Friday after the last shipments have left.
-
Cool. Thanks for the quick reply.

Josh has been working his a** off getting through the mountain (mountain range!) of orders we got over the holidays. It's been a real challenge keeping track of all of the inventory that had to be ordered to cover everything and also to get it accurately kitted when it finally arrives. He did an amazing job! The peak holiday order periods have been worked through and Josh has a new part-time helper. So you will see the delivery time shortening over the next few weeks - after we get a few bits in that are back ordered by our suppliers. A few recurring bottlenecks in the supply line is the thing we will be working hard to alleviate in the next few months.

Yeah, I bet. I'm not trying to give you guys a hard time or anything. I'm just curious, and excited to get my first kit. My order should go out sometime next week, which is close to the 4-6 weeks estimate you guys give. Even with all the holiday madness.
