Just bought a Hakko. Need advise on temperature setting. Default setting is 750 f. Seems hot.

Sounds a bit, i have the default temp on mine set to 350c, sometimes i bump upto 400c if there is a large heatsink soaking up the heat.  Think that translates to around 650f and 750f.

In the office, we solder with the temperature all the way up.

(For soldering LED's, having the temp this high means you need just a second or two of iron contact)
