Title: really short leads on transistors for c4s boards
Post by: ramalamadingdong on April 26, 2015, 06:29:30 AM
they barely poke through the holes on the pcbs. The hole on the heat sink seems too high. How do you solder them?! Do I just flood the joint and hope for the best? That doesn't seem right.

I think there are no answers here, because it is realy hard to picture what exactly is going on. Did you cut the leads or did they show up short? Maybe the heatsink is upside down?  I think a pic would definitely help to see what is going on.

Are these a recent acquisition, or something you got a while ago? We did get a batch of MJE5731As that had kind of short leads, but that was about a year ago.

I know its sad, but I have a lot of competing interests in life right now.

If you e-mail replacementparts(at)Bottlehead(doht)com, we can pop out some replacements for you.

(Incidentally, I ended up with the remainder of these last year, as they work perfectly well in some kits, but not others)

Already done! You guys are great. If you need them back, I'm more than happy to send since they'll likely just sit in my house.
