Title: My resistance seems to be futile. Help please [solved]
Post by: AllanMarcus on May 09, 2015, 04:44:33 PM
Just finished my stock Crack build, and I'm have resistance issues. Any help is appreciated

I walked through the manual and made sure all the connections were correct and soldered.

I walked through Grainger49's group check post. All OK there. My black lead is clipped to T3, and here are the readings:

Terminal     Manual           Me

1                  *          OK
2                  *          OK
3                  0 ohms     OK
4                  *          OK
5                  *          OK
6                  2.4k ohms  .1-.3 ohm   <--------------
7                  2.9k ohms  OK
8                  0 ohms     OK
9                  2.9k ohms  OK
10                2.4k ohms   .1-.5 ohm    <----------------
12                0 ohms      .1-.3 ohm
13                *           OK
14                0 ohms      .4-.5 ohm
20                0 ohms      .4 ohm
22                0 ohms      OK
B3                2.9k ohms   OK
B6                2.9k ohms   OK

Please note the striped side of the 100uF 160V caps are on 6 and 7, as shown on page 34

You did the TRS mod, didnt You?
That would explain the low resistances at 6, 10.

Doh! I didn't make that connection (bad pun intended). I guess I'm ready for voltage check. Exciting.

Many thank.
