Title: Headphone Jack problem. [solved]
Post by: jason8777 on May 13, 2015, 09:14:57 AM
I just finished building the amp.  Resistance and Voltage checked out OK.  When I plug in the headphone jack all the way I can only hear left channel of headphone working.  However, If I pull the headphone jack up a little or move it a little then  both channel work again.  Please advise what is wrong. Thanks in advance.

Crack FAQ #12 covers this.

This is a good sticky, more "guys" should give it a read.

This is almost always an issue with the wiring from the RCA jacks to the pot, or an issue between the 100uF coupling caps and the headphone jack.

How were your resistance readings across each RCA jack?

It works fine now.  Thank you.  Now to speedball upgrade.  I'm building this amp for a friend.  The first one I built for myself work perfectly.  Thanks again.

Can I ask what the problem was and how it was solved?
Just for the sake of learning.

I used the screwdriver to poke around the metal on the headphone jack, resolder the wires on the jack, loosing the crew on top a little bit and twisted the headphone plug... Hey it works :). Just finished upgrading speedball, I think my friend gonna like it.  ;D  One more to go.
