I'd like to build a pair of DIY desktop speakers using parts from PartsExpress. I'd be using the quicksand so that would limit me to 8 watts into 4 ohms or 4 watts into 8 ohms. I'd like to use a single full range driver but I have no idea if they have one that'll work. I'm mainly a headphone guy so I need a little help
I found this cabinet

Funny enough, I already have those in a box waiting to be built. I didn't think there would be enough power.

It's certainly worth a shot. If you aren't sitting all that far from them, power demand may not be that big of a deal.

Understood... Guess I'll build em and let everyone know what happens.
The cat's been sleeping on that box for about 7 or 8 years. She'll be mad.

No she has been waiting all this time for you to empty the box so she can sleep in it.
I believe I have heard this, or a version of this speaker. They did not sound bad at all. I think there are even folks that have proposed mods for them, though you'll have to track that down yourself...John

She will be much happier with the box open. Mine always are.
