I know (I think) that the supplied hookup wire for the speedball is 24 AWG. I find it easily breaks. Anyone try 22 AWG?

The supplied wire is 22. The Crack wire is 20.

It shouldn't break easily. Either you are bending it too much or your stripping tool is not very good.

I second that the stripping tool is cutting into the wire. Try a larger gauge on the stripper to strip it.

Interesting- I wound up buying some 22 awg wire, and it's definitely thicker than what I got with my speedball kit. Some way, some how, my speedball came with wire thinner than 22 awg. Which makes me wonder if I should just rewire the entire speedball with 22 awg wire? About 1/2 the wires were already replaced with the 22 awg wire I bought. The 22 awg I bought- doesn't break!

The wire in the Speedball has a Teflon jacket, which is thinner than most jackets. The conductor is 22 AWG.

The "Wire Gauge and Current" table says that you really ought to use wire thicker than 40 AWG.

Not talking about the jacket- I mean the wire itself
