Made Up Mind is a killer album. I've been listening to it on the big system lately.
-
That was awesome!
I recently started listening to Derek Trucks. Both the Tedeschi Trucks Band and the Derek Trucks Band allow audience (and sometimes direct from the soundboard) taping and sharing of their shows, and hundreds of their shows can be found on archive.org, most as flac files. There are Derek Trucks shows dating back to when he was about 12 years old.
Please buy their albums, but if you want to experience some of their live shows this is a great option.

WOW! That duo can tear it up. I've caught them live a couple of times. Always a great show. I even got to see Derek with the Allman Brothers many moons ago. Thanks for posting, Doc.

Thank you Doc for this excellent tip !
Hadn't heard anything from this band before and now I do.
Ordered three albums on vinyl just now:
Everybody's Talkin' (3LP)
Made Up Mind (2LP)
Revelator (2LP)
Cheers !

The albums from before that marriage are fabulous too. Try Soul Serenade by Derek and Live from Austin by Susan.
Susan's version of John Prine's Angel From Montgomery is, dare I say, a match for Bonnie Rait's.

I'll have a look at those as well.....thanks again !

Btw the albums I mentioned earlier (Everybody's Talkin' (3LP)-Made Up Mind (2LP)-Revelator (2LP) ) are all reissues from the Dutch label "Music On Vinyl".
The have their albums pressed at "Record Industry" in Haarlem (Netherlands):

I agree, they are both outstanding musicians on their own and even better together!
I also recommend Susan's album "Hope And Desire".

I got the CD yesterday. This morning on the way to a Doctor's appointment I listened to the first 4 tracks. When I got home I put it on the "Big Rig" system and confirmed my impression of her voice.
She sounds like a younger Bonnie Raitt. Of course, the guitar work is excellent.
