Title: What to do with black lead from plate chokes?

Hi,

I'm making good progress and about to wire-up the tube sockets but noticed that there isn't any connection for the two black leads from the plate chokes. They're just hanging off the side of the chassis...

Should I just cut these off if they're not used? I didn't understand the part about using the heat wrap earlier in choke installation.

You use the heatshrink on the ends of the two black wires so they dont short on anything ;)

Ahh, got it  :D

Will a hairdryer work to shrink it or do I need a special heating tool?

Should work, i just use a lighter.  Holding a soldering iron in close proximity works too, but avoid the temptation to rub the iron against it or you will end up with black sticky stuff on your tip.

The black lead is used instead of the red one in the Stereomour (both versions), in case you wondered. This way we have fewer parts to stock and can buy them in larger quantity at a better price. That lead has the full high voltage on it, so it must be insulated and tucked inside where nobody can touch it!
