Title: Bottlehead crack remodding
Post by: benz on September 01, 2015, 03:58:45 AM
Hi i just finished setting up my bottlehead crack plus speedball kit and am already thinking of what to do next to further improve my kit. I am thinking of getting new tubes for my amp and was looking at Tungsol 5998 tube and  tungsram e80cc tube for my kit. I went to do a little research and found out that i may need to do a little remodding of my kit in order to use my e80cc is that really necessary? i know there have been posts out there that have already answered my questions but i have seen conflicting posts where some say with the speedball upgrade it will work just fine. So i am here to have a clearer answer anyone can help clarify to me if i need to remod it and if there is a need to change what should i change?

If you want to go to the trouble of changing to the e80cc, I see no logic in not optimizing the operating point for it. I recommend making the component changes.
