Title: loudness: Stereomour II vs SEX + Quickie
Post by: denti alligator on September 11, 2015, 11:10:36 AM
I have a SEX 2.0 with MagneQuest iron and a Quickie in front of it.

CD and digital are plenty loud. I tend to keep the SEX at about 75% and the Quickie never needs to go higher than 10 o'clock.

With phono (using Seduction) it's different: I need to turn up the Quickie to around 12 o'clock to get the same volume.

How would the Stereomour II compare? My Klipsch Forte IIs have a sentivity of 99db, I think.

You have a difference in voltage output between your sources.  This is an independent function from the gain in the rest of your system.

The gain of the Stereomour II (21.5dB) and S.E.X. kit (15dB) are published in their specs. In others words you will turn the knob 6dB less on the Steremour II to get the same level.
