Title: Eros Sonicap Platinum Coupler Cap Upgrade
Post by: SCompRacer on November 14, 2015, 09:32:57 AM
I swapped out the 1.5uf Solens with two .33uf Sonicap Platinums in my Eros. I opted for L3 1/2% matching. Very pleased with the upgrade. I prefer neutral sounding coupling caps. My vinyl is more transparent than before. System is more coherent, and exhibits more realistic ambiance and air. There is no roll off of the bass. Still dead quiet. While not advertised, Jeff said the Platinums are shielded.

Be aware that .47uf is the suggested lowest value coupler to be used per a post by Paul Joppa. My pre amp SE input impedance is 300k Ohms. My IC's are Belden shielded coax.

Outstanding work!  That is one of the best I've seen. With that sweet casework  you could sell to an audiophool for 5k :)
