Title: Starting a custom base for Kaiju
Post by: ebag4 on December 05, 2015, 08:35:41 AM
I am wanting to start my build of a custom base for my Kaiju.  I'm sure the plate measurement is right on just like the Stereomour plate was.  My questions are:

What is the maximum distance any parts hang off the bottom of the plate?
Was any additional support built into the standard base for center support?
Will a 1/4" lip work?

Thanks,
Ed

The plate is 10x16 and 1/8" thick. You will want all of the base depth found in the stock wood base.  There is no additional support beyond the lip of the base.

Thanks PB.  Not worried about heat as the base will be elevated on feet.  Is the full depth of the standard base required to hide the parts below the plate?

Thanks again,
Ed

Started my base and a matching one for my Crack.  Can't wait to get this amp started! I went 5" deep to accomodate a few custom mods and caps.

BTW, I find a good bottle of tequila really enhances my soundstage and holographic imaging, A lot more air too.  Cheaper than caps but the problem is it is only temporary  ;D
