I ordered some EML 300b Meshplate tubes from TubesUSA, George Lenz. when I ordered I sent him my shipping address and information. I then sent him a check with my business envelope. Rather than shipping the tubes to the provided shipping address, he shipped to the address on the envelope. The tubes were shipped uninsured, he did not send me shipping or tracking notification so I didn't know they were shipped. Otherwise, I would have caught the error since I receive automatic shipping notices from UPS. They are now missing, presumed stolen.
He is blaming me, and seems will not make good on the tubes. I feel I did everything I could in providing accurate shipping information with my order. I also could have figured out the mistake if I had the tracking information prior to arrival.
Anyway, it seems I am out $840 bucks. Please keep your eyes open for a pair of EML Mesh plate tubes for sale, they might be the stolen ones.

Sorry for your troubles. It is indeed a good idea for a vendor to send a shipping notice with tracking info. It helps to protect both buyer and seller.
-
Any ideas what to do about it?

Why didn't you get them at your business address? Who handles your business mail? Someone probably signed for them even if they were uninsured. Get with the people or person who handles your business mail and ask them if a package came for you. Maybe it will come in a few days.

Not that kind of business. No one at my office, on a busy street next to an apt building. I never have packages sent there. It is clearly stolen. It really frustrated me because I provided the shipping address, clearly the vendor is blaming me and not willing to take any responsibility

Sorry for your misfortune. $840 is a lot to lose.
-
Yea, thanks - worst part is not having the tubes!
-
Why not ask for the proof of delivery and see who signed for them?
-
If you paid with a credit card perhaps they will challenge the seller.
EDIT: Never-mind, I see you paid with a check. :(

Guys, I'm gonna lock this. It doesn't really have anything to do with Bottlehead directly and I'm not seeing any suggestions for the OP that would be useful. I'm sorry Drew, that you had a problem but I suspect you will have to work with Tubes USA and/or Jac to resolve it.
