Title: Bottleneck meet (MD/VA/DC/DE/PA) - May 15
Post by: RayP on April 07, 2016, 07:55:47 AM
Tom (DrLazybones) has kindly offered to host a meet on Sunday May 15 at his house in Forrest Hill MD just to the west of Belair MD. We would start about 11 am and go until about 4 pm.

Tom has Decware Zen Open Baffle speakers that he built himself along with a Stereomour amp (with Emission Labs 45s).

I will bring my new GK71 amp as well as the 6C33C amp.

All are welcome. If you are planning to come please say so on the forum (along with whatever you are bringing) and contact me for the address and phone numbers.

If it will help build some interest, I can make a pretty killer smoked pulled pork. :-)

Sounds great. I have a Bottlehead DAC I can bring and a bewildering verity of line stages. Amps as well but I would to hear how Rays new amp stacks up to his 6C33.

"Smoked pulled pork". Will you Marry me?

It doesn't sound like there is a whole lot of interest in this meeting, so maybe we should postpone for a later date when we can get better participation.

Let's make a decision on Sunday. If you plan to come, please respond as soon as you can.

If we do go ahead I will bring the 6C33C amp and the GK71 amp.

6C33C http://audioratbag.blogspot.com/2015/01/cat-vomit-special-6e5p-6c33c-parafeed.html (http://audioratbag.blogspot.com/2015/01/cat-vomit-special-6e5p-6c33c-parafeed.html)

GK71 http://audioratbag.blogspot.com/2016/01/the-heart-attack-special-6s17k-v.html (http://audioratbag.blogspot.com/2016/01/the-heart-attack-special-6s17k-v.html)

In a way it depresses me that the amps sound so different. The  GK71 amp is breaking in but I still don't quite know what to make of it. It has incredible detail and makes parts of familiar CDs sound quite different. Musical instruments sound more real. However, I am not quite sure that I enjoy listening to it as much as the 6C33C. It is certainly very revealing and dynamic. It will be interesting to hear both amps on other speakers.

We won't be holding the meet. Maybe later in the year.

Sorry I just saw this. Due to some life changes ive been very stagnant with the hobby. bUt I would like to audition my Millett designed Jonokuchi with Overnight Sensations, both of which have been tweaked since my last log in. It also happens i just purchased the last S.E.X. kit which brought me back here. With that being said i would be very interested in attending a meet later in the year. I will keep checking in. PS, Also need to return some Cd's to Ray, sorry i fell out of touch.
