To quote Leafly.com -
Few strains compare to Green Crack’s sharp energy and focus as it induces an invigorating mental buzz that keeps you going throughout the day. With a tangy, fruity flavor redolent of mango, Green Crack is the perfect daytime medication for patients treating fatigue, stress, and depression.

I am nearing completion of a special Crack with Speedball upgrade headphone amp that uses the mods popularized by many Bottlehead forum and Head-Fi members. This Altec green hammer finish baby has a filter choke in the power supply and 100uF Audyn film caps for output and final power supply stage. It will get a Valab attenuator if it ever shows up and, if I can squeeze them in, it will get Soviet era Teflon bypass caps.
We will have this available to listen to at the upcoming Seattle Head Fi meet here at Bottleheadquarters on the 30th, and the Portland Head Fi meet a week later.
We will also have a stock Crackatwoa amp available to compare it with.

Nice! I'll be honest. I'm not a fan of green paint. However there are times, when done right, that it is superb. Like Doc's example above. It reminds me of another product I adore.

Wow! How do get that great hammered finish? Mine tend to get much less pronounced.

Would be very interesting to compare a fully modded Crack to a Crack2a2. Unfortunately I am on the wrong side of the Atlantic, but I am sure those who attend will enjoy the comparison.

It's like the old joke -
"How do you get to Carnegie Hall?"
"Practice"
Lay down a 50% coat. Shoot from both sides and ends.
Repeat once to build to a light 90-100% coverage. Let sit for a minute or two.
Lay down a heavy coat, again being careful to spray from each side and each end with even strokes that start off one end of the panel and finish past the other end. You want to spray along the length and also along the width to get an even pattern. Be sure to spray well off the edge of the panel to get good coverage at the edges.
Don't spray over it once it has set for more than a minute. That can ruin the pattern.
Don't touch the panel for a couple of days, and don't mount hardware for a week or so.

Wonderful!
Thanks for a great explanation!
(I knew 'practice' was an answer the second i posted:) )
Looking forward to my next build.

100uF Audyn film caps at the outputs and the final power supply filter stage. A filter choke in the power supply also, making the supply C-L-C-R-(film)C. I had planned to put in a Valab attenuator per the flavor of the week on Head-Fi, but they seem to take forf***ingever to get here from Chinaland. And so I put in my personal Alps Blue velvet that has stood the test of time as one of the better pots I've heard.
This will be playing at the HeadFi meet at Bottleheadquarters next Saturday, April 30th. We will have it sitting next to a stock Crackatwoa with the upcoming CrackQuiet attenuator upgrade, both connected to the same source and running identical brand and date code tubes. You will be able to listen back and forth with a pair of Anax modded HD800s. We will repeat the comparison at the Portlandia Head-Fi meet the next weekend. I think you will be pleasantly surprised by the bandwidth of the Crackatwoa.

Oooo... Schottky diodes too? I noted a recent comment on how they were best bang for the buck as a Crack mod.

Is the final PS cap in the stock Crack a 220uF / 250V?

You probably didn't hear it from me.
