Title: Using Y Cables between DAC and AMPS
Post by: Mordicai on May 03, 2016, 12:25:19 PM
I use a Stereomour and a Sex 2.1 fed by a Shiit Bifrost MB. Im getting tired of changing the RCA cables from one amp to the other. The DAC only has one OUT. I don't have preamp, so Thought I would make up two Y cables so I can run a second set of RCA cables. Bad idea? Any signal loss? Should a build a switching box instead ? Be happy for some feed back...Max

There shouldn't be any signal loss unless there's something wonky with the input impedances on those amps. Otherwise it should be fine.

My personal opinion is to make a switch box. There is always a possibility that there might be some impedance issues with the DAC "seeing" both amps even if one is not on.
