Title: please bear with me for a bit
Post by: Doc B. on June 13, 2016, 03:58:09 PM
Our 11 year old puppy Jettie broke his leg yesterday, chasing a bunny across the yard and into a hedge. Eileen and I are running on not much sleep and plenty of worry while we wait for a prognosis from the vet. Apologies if our response time is a little slower than usual.

For those who will ask - yup, same yard I broke my leg in 11 years ago. Not a lucky yard for Schmalles.

Take your time. Dogs give us unconditional love and support and are better to us than many of the humans in our lives. Attend to Jettie, we can wait.

Totally understandable. You guys do what you need to do. Our pets are our extended family. Sometimes more important than our human family. I speak from experience.

I hope everything works out.

Jettie passed away today. Most amazing dog I ever had, and a very dear friend. He will be missed very much.
Vale Jettie Boy.

I'm sorry for your loss Doc.  There's no love like the love of a good dog.

Thanks everyone, for the kind words. I'm sure Jettie is sending his big baritone "woo-woooo" to you from the great beyond.

Awww sorry for your loss Doc and Eileen.
I cared for a chihuahua for awhile that would howl anytime he heard bagpipes. Dogs are great!

Doc, I'm brand new around here but as a fellow dog lover and someone who lost a wonderful pup at only 4 years old my thoughts go out to you. They become like family and the loss never gets easy.
