I bought a pair of those recently for my Stereomour II.  They sounded great, but one of the tubes died within about a week.  I thought it was a problem with the MourQuiet upgrade that I installed shortly after getting the tubes, but swapping out for the stock tubes proved otherwise.

I had a few JJs fail in my original Stereomour and switched about a year ago to EML solid plate tubes. They have performed flawlessly. The EMLs are about the same size as the JJs.

Are you guys buying your 2A3-40's from Eurotubes in Oregon? It's my understanding that they carefully test each tube to cull out the bad ones.

I bought mine from Eurotubes about 18 months ago. Never had a problem. Love um.

Yep.  Great customer service and a 6-month warranty.

I was (ok, still am) lusting after a pair of EML Meshies, but just couldn't pull trigger on the hefty price tag.  Need to save for the new Bottlehead speaker project.
