Should I turn my amp off whenever I'm not using it, or only when I'll be away for an extended period of time?
Which puts more wear on the tubes, running idle for several hours or getting power cycled?
In case it matters, I've got a Crack with Speedball.

I switch my amps off if I don't plan listening in tne next hour and definitely when I leave the house.

I tend to leave the preamp powered up if I'm going to use it in the next few hours. The headphone amp and power amps I'd agree with an hour. From a safety standpoint, treat all tubes with the same caution as an open flame (candle, kerosene lamp etc.) so if I'm out of my listening room then all off.
