For many years I have wanted to build a Bottlehead kit. Back in the summer I ordered a Eros Phono Preamp kit and a couple of weeks ago I got started on the build. I have taken my time, gone slow and completed the point to point wiring this afternoon. All that is left is to mount the 2 curcit cards and test everything. Unless I have a big problem, I hope to have it playing tomorrow. My plan has been to set this up in my office with my Jolida 202 I have had forever powering my Klipsh Herasey speakers. But now, I want to keep building.
I have always been a power guy. My solid state home theater has about 5,000 watts of power amps with significant headroom. But music is different. Here is my question, what do I build now? My Jolida can begin to distort with poor input sources. Would 8 watts of tube power provide enough current? Do I need to build two of the 300B amps and bridge them?
I listen to Jazz, rock, country in that order.
Thanks in advance.

You say the Jolida can distort with poor input sources. If the problem is distortion from lack of amp power into your speakers for a listening level that you like, the source shouldn't make any difference. The issue should be within the amp itself.
I should think a Kaiju would be plenty adequate for Heresys. IIRC they are about 96dB sensitivity, and you should be able to hit about 105dB peaks with the 8-9 watts of a Kaiju. I also think the 300B's lower mid/bass weight will fit well with the Heresy's tonal balance. You could start with one Kaiju and add a second if you felt you needed more output (108dB) from your speakers.

Doc, which 300Bs ship with the Kaiju?
Is there a special price if you buy the PreBee and Kailua as a pair?
Thanks?
