Son gave us tickets to see a Game of Thrones concert last night. I have to say, I enjoyed the performance and the spectacle. I would recommend it if it comes to your area. The conductor/mc/performer Djawadi, takes you thru all the seasons so far and goes thru supporting and dramatic music for all of the defining scenes in the shows. A good 2.5 hours of music and video. Also some unique and original music instruments used.
But last night the production was a C-. The mikes for all solo or feature performers were poorly mixed, drowned out by the supporting symphony and chorus.
I had to see how it was supposed to sound so I fired up Spotify and all 3 amps to play thru his albums. Couldn't decide which would do the music justice so I just played all three. Who knew it would sound so good! Wish it would've sounded as clear last night.

Thanks for the suggestion! I just noticed that show is playing in Seattle tonight.
I just recently became aware of Ramin Djawadi and his extensive catalog. I'm not familiar with his GoT work, but I can say the Westworld soundtrack is very nice. I usually don't go in for covers much, or instrumentalizations of popular music (in an interview, Djawadi refers to them as 'piano reductions,' which seems a much more apt description), but Djawadi's adaptations have a lot more feeling than the typical Muzak treatment, to say the least.
