Thanks for the blasts from the past...loved the Jackie Stewart play by play of the Nurburgring - especially hearing things like 'g-forces hold your foot on the gas so you can't move your foot to the brake,' and 'you make this turn in 3rd gear...maybe 2nd with full tanks' - talk about pushing the envelope! Hard to imagine having to drop a gear in my Subaru only because I've just left the filling station.
Always loved listening to Jackie Stewart as a commentator - his love of sport (particularly motorsports, but he narrated all manner of speed events, even the luge) was evident and when he comes to mind, I can't help but recall the way in which the pitch of his voice and pace of his delivery seemed to rise, faster and faster, higher and higher, as the drama of the event built.

Just for you, here is the same again, but at a more dignified pace :)

These are great! Now I have to resist the temptation to keep watching all the related YouTubes! Thanks a lot! ;-)

Awesome video Dan!
Just a week ago there was a big issue when fans got onto the track while the cars were still making their cool down lap at the Melbourne GP. That's still under investigation.
What a difference!
Love that lavalier mic!

From the making of "Grand Prix" the film?

All I could think was, yah that helmet is really going to help. I admire his courage, but dam his judgement.
