Title: Stereomour [resolved]
Post by: rockdrummer on May 21, 2017, 04:26:28 AM
Hi , so everything tested out okay on my freshly finished original stereomour , finally got to looking it up after it sat in place for the week on the rack.
I notice the 12at7 has a slight cloud-like look inside the top of the glass. Then I notice a very slight crack across a few pins in the bottom.  The tube warms but does not glow. There is a slight hum in both channels that isn't affected by volume changes. I will post the original test numbers later.

If the tube is bad, should I wait to get a new one before I do more voltage tests?
Thanks,
Ben

Yes, that tube is broken and dead. Sounds like it may have been stressed when pushed into the socket.

Thanks for the info Doc. I'm anxious to get one and guitar center has groove tube 12at7 in stock. Anyone suggest not using one of those?

There we go! Super quiet, dynamic as all get-out. Lots of tweaking and messing with placement, then comparing to adding in the quickie. Now for lots of listening!
Thanks again Bottlehead.
