Title: I have 250V 6.8uF FT-3 caps for parafeed?
Post by: kip.duff on November 02, 2017, 12:26:49 PM
I was thinking of replacing the coupling and parafeed caps on my Paramount 1.1's.  I intend to install some 600V 0.1uF Russian FT-3 caps for coupling location.  I also have some 6.8uf 250V FT-3 caps that I would like to try for parafeed caps- but stock is 600V (3.3uF).  Since this cap does not see plate-to-ground voltage accross it, am I safe to run this lower voltage spec til I settle on another cap?

That cap connects from the plate to the cathode of the 300B. You have about 350VDC+ across that cap, plus the signal voltage. It needs to be rated for 600V.
