Title: Is this what the Fix fixes?
Post by: ALL212 on January 29, 2018, 04:59:16 AM
I've got a pair of Odyssey Audio Lorelei's.  Narrow fronts (about 8").

I've ran a freq test on them and found a "hump" at about 35hz followed by a dip at about 75hz.  My speakers are about 8 feet apart.
I corrected this as well as I could by placing 2'x4' base traps between speakers and cabinet.

Is the purpose of the Fix to correct this type of response?

1st image is the baseline
2nd is the "correction"
3rd is the layout

That's the speaker reacting to the room, the Fix does not address this.

Your speakers likely have some baffle step correction built into the crossover.

That response curve is not that bad. Try using Room EQ Wizard to model your room and determine the best placement to avoid the bumps and dips you see. Sometimes moving a speaker a couple of inches can make a big difference.
