Title: Speaker wire?

Hi, I thought I posted this, but I might not have hit the post button. 

Thanks for the power cord design.  It looks rather easy to make. Does anyone see an issue making it with 18AWG speaker wire? Or is the selection of wire that bottlehead uses the secrecy sauce?

It plugs into your AC mains, so for liability reasons I am disinclined to offer any suggestion to try this. I would seriously look at the insulation rating if I were making a determination like this for my own use. AC wiring insulation is typically rated for 600V. To my knowledge there is no such rating for speaker wire and thus it may not be wise to use it.
