Title: Using 6sn7's with seduction
Post by: steve_b_in_AZ on June 17, 2018, 06:52:10 PM
Hi all - I still use my seduction phono stage every day, and I have been tube-rolling 6922 varieties in the circuit.

My question is whether the circuit can handle a pair of 6sn7 varieties (with suitable tube adapters of course), despite what I believe to be a higher heater current requirement for these tubes.

Too much heater current, you would probably have to change the eq circuit a bit, you would have to change the plate loads and swap the cathode bias LEDs for resistors with an appropriate bypass capacitor, and after all that it still would not have enough gain.
