Title: Paramount buzz
Post by: thdewitt on September 28, 2018, 08:08:23 AM
Hello,

I have been running my paramount for several years and they have been great.  All of the sudden I have a buzz coming from just one mono block.  It is not coming through the speakers just from the unit.  It does not follow the tubes if I move them to the other side.  Any ideas?  Thanks

Try tightening the power transformer mounting screws. They may have loosened up after years of use.

If tightening the mounting bolts doesn't solve the problem, this recent thread may be of interest: https://bottlehead.com/smf/index.php?topic=11085.0 (https://bottlehead.com/smf/index.php?topic=11085.0)

A fellow Bottlehead member reports solving the problem of a buzzing transformer with silicone washers.

cheers,

Measure your voltages ASAP.

Yikes.  Sounds Ominous.  I will look in to this today.

Thanks everyone.  I tried tightening the mounting screws.  Unfortunately I am having some problems figuring out how to bet back under the PC board covering the bottom of the big transformer (Power).
