Title: Smoked Resistor
Post by: Cary on September 09, 2019, 12:42:13 PM
Hi Dan and Paul,

After I did the resistance checks, which were correct, I plugged in the amp, the 3.32K, 1/2 watt, resistor on points 45 and 47 began to smoke. I double checked my wiring and everything is correct, any ideals what went wrong?

Thank you,

Cary

I would post some build photos, maybe we can spot something.

Also triple check the orientation of the 22uF cap that follows that part.  If it's in backwards, the 3.32K resistor will smoke.  If one end of the 3.32K resistor is connected to an incorrect terminal, it could also smoke.

Hi Paul,

I triple checked the orientation of the 22uF caps, everything was correct, what is my next step?
