Title: Plugging Reduction in Pre-Amp Line Source
Post by: taffet on October 19, 2019, 09:31:59 AM
Hi-Apologies for my complete lack of electronics knowledge. Can I run my Reduction w/ Integration Upgrade into the AUX circuit on my Adcom GFP-555II pre-amp, which has a load impedance of 22,000 ohms? I believe the Reduction should be plugged into an input with at least 50,000K. Does it matter?  I obviously need volume control before going into my HK PA2100 and alternatively a Canary CA-100. Thanks, Michael :)

Yes, you can plug it into that aux jack.  We have run  the same output stage into loads as low as 15K, though it doesn't quite sound as good.  After you get your kit up and running, I would replace the 0.47uF coupling caps with 1.5uF coupling caps, which won't resolve the issue but it will help a bit with low frequency response into a load that low.
