Title: Red Crack done!
Post by: kGlerup on January 03, 2020, 08:42:49 AM
Four days of building over. Mostly spent on paintwork :)
Maybe a bit over the top color combo, but wanted something a bit different  8)

Thanks for the excellent manual! All checks spot on from the off and now the music is playing.
Will put in the Speedball in a few weeks time, hope it goes just as smooth.

That looks like a lot of work.  What does the switch do?

The switch is for a crossfeed circuit. I'm still trimming it to my liking, so it's not built in yet.

Initial impression of the Crack is very positive, so I'm excited to see what some burnin does to it, followed by the Speedball :)

For a serious crossfeed mod look up the Lothrop procedure.

I take that you're not a big crossfeed fan..  :D
But I tend to agree.. On my old amp the added softness from crossfeed seemed to remove a bit of harshness. The Crack doesn't need this in the same way, so let's if it is actually needed..

Crossfeed or not, she's a beauty.
