I posted this here once before under the General Discussion heading. At the time it wasn't certain, if this group buy would actually materialize. It looks solid now. Two threaded CinemaMag CM-1254 SUT's will end up costing about $210 with tax and shipping for anyone in the US. That's roughly half of what they normally cost. It's such a good deal that I have now decided to sign up. The sign up period may or may not end on Monday. It's up to the person organizing it.
The Cinemag 1254 is a very nice MC transformer. It is a good match for the Bottlehead Eros phono preamp. The threaded version works best with the Eros 2.
I have no stake in the group buy other than as a participant. Nobody really benefits from them financially. Organizing them is always a lot of work.

I can't help but get the impression from the Group Buy participant list, that the two of us are not the only members of the Bottlehead Forum buying those CineMags.

There is/was a similar group buy on Lencoheaven.com, not sure whether it is still active. The diy.com has closed. Missed it!

The CinemaMag CM-1254 Moving Coil SUT group buy just got some amazing news. All 30 transformers are ready to ship. We all didn't expect that to happen for at least another month or two because of the corona virus situation. Now though, Geary heard from Dave [David Geren] at Cinemag that all the transfomers have been built and tested and are good to go. Yay!

The first group buy is closed and totally fulfilled. There may be another on diyaudio as additional interest has surfaced.
Doc does not allow sales or promotion of other products on the Bottlehead forum. So I suggest watching on the diyaudio site.
