Title: What upgrade 10uF capacitor works well in the BeePre.
Post by: Tubegopher on June 13, 2020, 05:33:05 PM
OK, I just ordered a BeePre and I am reviewing different options for upgrades to the 10uF capacitors and I am hoping to get some opinions from some of you that have some experience with the BeePre. What is the minimum voltage that I can have?  Is it 250V? Will the higher voltages at 10uF fit in the preamp? Looking for experienced answers.
Thanks,
Tubegopher

I have some 10uF Russian paper caps you can have next time you're over.

Not Beepre specific but i have tested a dozen different Russian 10uf caps recently.  My recommendation is the KBG-MN, BUT the 10uf version is only rated at 200v, the 8uf version is available in 400v.  Close second the MBGCH/MBGO cans available in 250/300v.

200V would be OK if you put the soft start parts on the A side of the C4S board for each channel.
