Post by: triode on August 26, 2020, 11:21:37 PM
Hi

Anyone know where to get Jacqui Naylor newer album in uncompressed file (not MP3)?
I only seen the albums in iTunes and Amazon music.

I remember long time ago I got bunch of Jacqui Naylor albums from Bottlehead.

Thanks in advance

I'll ask what formats she has available. At some point it will be out on vinyl, when the pressing plants get caught back up.

Jacqui says the album will be officially released in January of 2021, at which time it will be available in high res.

If you sign up for Jacqui's mailing list via her website (jacquinaylor.com/wp/contact/) you'll receive some special offers for September availability of her new album - signed copies of both CD and vinyl versions I believe. I'm not aware of the availability of high res flac or dsd downloads of her music. I own most of her CDs but all my 44.1 kHz flac files are ones I've ripped.

Her older albums have never been released in high res. If she could be convinced that it would be worthwhile she might be induced to do so. Pretty sure the high res files exist for most of the albums, as I have some of them, as well as one on tape (The Number White) that we recorded in 2006 IIRC. Re the vinyl of the new album, pretty sure it's stuck in the record pressing backlog associated with Covid. Might be true of the CD too.

There is also a ripple effect from the Apollo / Transco lacquer production facility fire in February of this year. That knocked out one of only two lacquer productions in the world.
