Another tube that can be used in the Moreplay is the 7C5 Loctal Tube. I purchased a pair of 7C5 to 6V6 adapters from eBay, and just received a pair of RCA 7C5's yesterday. 7C5 tubes are 6V6 in Loctal configuration. For those of you who love to roll tubes this opens up quite a few options, 7C5 tubes are very affordable and easy to source.

How are they sounding?
One could also use the 6AQ5 in the Moreplay, in fact the first prototype I built uses them.

Hi Paul,
They sound great, at the moment I only have three hours on them. Thanks for the info that the 6AQ5's can be used, a friend gave me seventy JAN 6AQ5's. After I get sixty hours on then I will report back.
Wishing you and your family a great Thanksgiving.

Paul, I probably have about a dozen 7C5 tubes. Let me know if you would like a few. I do not however have any loctal sockets.
Have a great time with your family this Thanksgiving.

I have lots of extra local sockets, I'm happy to trade!

Paul,
Can the 6CM6 be used since it’s part of the 6V6 family?
Thank you,
Cary

Sure, if you can find an adapter or wire in a 9 pin socket, it should work nicely.

Thank you Paul, I found a 6CM6 to 6V6 adapter on eBay.

I now have over sixty hours on my 7C5 tubes. Compared to the supplied 6V6 tubes the 7C5's sound cleaner, well defined bass, great highs and a fantastic midrange. Lets talk costs, 7C5 to 6V6 adapters are ten dollars each, 7C5 tubes are ten dollars each. One thing that I recommend is to clean the pins of the tubes. I use a brass wire brush on my Foredom tool(an industrial grade Dremel tool). As I have stated the 7C5 is a 6V6 tube in Local form.
Wishing everyone happy holidays!
