Title: Parts Confirmation
Post by: Jm8542 on January 09, 2021, 10:20:32 AM
Hi all, I have a couple of questions regarding parts that might be replacements.

1.) On the circuit board It states to use a 330K (omega) 3W resistor. What appears to be substituted is resistor that is banded orange, orange, yellow gold. Is this correct?

2.) On the binding posts it states to use 4.)  60.4(omega) 1/8W metal film resistors. I don't have these. What I do have left over are 4.)  Dale 1735  RN55C 60R45 resistors. Are they the replacement?

Thank you for your help on this!!!

If you use your meter to measure the resistances of these resistors, what values do you get?

Yes,
1.) The resistance for resistor for the circuit board measures 332.
2.) The resistance for resistors I am assuming for the posts are 60.6. Is there a difference in that one is a wire wound resistor?

Thanks!!!

I am sorry not wire wound but metal film.

Orange, orange, yellow, gold is a 330K ohm resistor 5% tolerance.

Which is a wire wound resistor?

Both the 330K and the 60.4 resistors that ship with the kit are metal film resistors.  The only wirewound resistors (that I can remember at least) in the Kaiju are the big 1K/25W, 22R/5W, and 120R/10W parts.

Sorry I meant metal film. The one for the posts have colored bands vs the ones I received are unbranded brown. Sorry newbie hear and just want to make sure it is compatible.

Yes, if they are 60.4 ohm resistors, you are good to go.
