Title: Plier recommendation
Post by: Deke609 on May 06, 2021, 10:53:04 AM
[Edit: I originally posted this recommendation in response to Doc B's video about hardware installation - i.e., attaching to the metal chassis plate things like transformers, terminal strips and tube sockets]

Related tool recommendation: "Neji-saurus" (aka "vampire") pliers: http://www.amazon.com/Engineer-Pz-58-Screw-Pliers-Gt/dp/B002L6HJAA/ref=sr_1_16?dchild=1&keywords=Engineer+PZ-58Y&qid=1620333737&sr=8-16 (http://www.amazon.com/Engineer-Pz-58-Screw-Pliers-Gt/dp/B002L6HJAA/ref=sr_1_16?dchild=1&keywords=Engineer+PZ-58Y&qid=1620333737&sr=8-16)

These things are great for getting a good grip on the nut while you tighten things down with a screwdriver or hex key.  They are also a godsend for removing screws/bolts with stripped keyholes (star, hex, etc.): they will firmly hold a round head while you unscrew the bolt.

A great tool not just for amp construction, but for general purpose handy-person stuff around the house.

cheers, Derek
