Title: Metallic gong-like sound through headphones when tapping [resolved]
Post by: Tomunizum on June 14, 2021, 10:29:33 AM
Hello

When the crack is on only, with headphones plugged in, during the first couple of minutes of it powering up, whenever I tap on / jostle the body of the crack:

I hear a sound like what you would hear if you tapped on a metal hollow object or one that reverberates. It resolves after warm up period.

The crack works perfectly, I have had no issues and it passed all checks in the guide.

I am thinking this is benign and something due to the anatomy of the device but I just wanted to make sure this is not a sign of something that could be or is problematic down the line. Something like a bad joint or bad component placement etc.

Thank you ahead of time to any help that is dedicated to my matter.

Best,
Tom

This is tube microphony.  It's benign and can be ignored.
