Title: What Amp Are You Using With Moreplay?
Post by: Cary on August 05, 2021, 10:29:47 AM: I will start this off, I am using the Seductor amplifier. My Moreplay, it is using 6005A tubes instead of 6V6â€™s.

Post by: ScottAstroNut on August 06, 2021, 12:44:36 PM: I use my Moreplay with a S.E.X. 3.0 and a pair of Klipsch RP-600m's as my office system. I enjoy being able to use multiple sources with the S.E.X. by using the Moreplay. I also really like how sweet the system sounds. Pretty amazing for a mere two watts!

I am excited to learn about tube rolling and trying more tubes in the amplifier. When you reference coke bottle tubes, can I get a little more information about them? The code for example, what it would take to run one? Maybe a couple of pictures? Thank you!

In order to run one, you would pull the tubes out of the Moreplay that we provide and plug in the 6V6Gs.

Post by: Deluk on November 07, 2021, 03:15:47 PM: I'm considering getting a Moreplay to front a pair of Quad II power amps. Would it be compatible, need adjustment or attenuators? Basically would it be a good choice? I'm in the UK and am currently using a slimline Rotel pre. It's not one of their high end models, an RC-850. Currently using Luxman L30 into my Klipsch Quartets. I'm BH family as I have a crack for my HD600's.

Is the Moreplay suffering from any delays at the moment?

The situation is dynamic because of the supply chain issues and the holidays. So it's hard to say for how long we will have stock on hand and how quickly the parts can be replenished. We are increasing our order quantities and lead times where we can to compensate.

Best I can tell you while we are in the middle of the biggest sale of the year is that we start shipping what we can as soon as we can. We ship all thru December as parts arrive and we are typically shipping the last of the BFCM orders in early January. I'll probably have a little better idea on Tuesday after the sale is complete.

Post by: marioed on January 20, 2022, 04:26:27 AM: I've got my Moreplay connected to my Crack with Speedball and a Decware SE84UFO amp into a pair of Omega Junior 8 XRS speakers. Using some new production Mullard 6V6GT's at the moment but have a selection of 6K6 tubes coming in tomorrow that I'm looking forward to trying.

Hi David, I am no doubt older than you at 71, but I have been into audio for many years. Back in the 70's, I managed a high end stereo store called Magnolia Hi Fi. I ran the original Magnolia village store. Point being I am "old school" on some of the newer items today. I am wondering if you can let me know how you use your Music Streamer: Bluesound Node2i streaming Tidal? I do stream from my phone to my system with a dragonfly DAC in between currently, but are there advantages to this Node 2i? I am in the dark. Thanks, Don

Post by: nipsy on May 10, 2022, 06:13:15 PM: I've hooked the Moreplay into my Decware ZKIT 1. As I primarily play vinyl, I use the ifi Zen phono stage. The music is magically coming out of a pair of Klipsch Heresy 1 speakers. The Moreplay was such an improvement, I'm considering building an Eros 2.

Hi David,

I have my moreplay hooked up to a Carver CM1090 amp (with the preamp bypassed), and I wanted to try an aegir power amp. I have a pair of psb imagine x1t speakers, which have a sensitivity of 90db and are 8 ohms. Do you think the aegir could run my speakers?

Post by: timindq on May 07, 2023, 11:01:24 AM: I'm feeding a Benchmark AHB2 amp. The Benchmark has XLR input only so I fabricated some cables to fit. Source is a Lumin D2 with an excellent volume control so I rarely adjust the Moreplay's volume knob. Turntable is on permanent vacation.

I believe this will be compatible for impedance matching:

Moreplay Output impedance: less than 3.2Kohms at all levels. For 1V in/1V out, 2.1Kohms.

ST-35 INPUT IMPEDANCE: 500K OHMS

500/3.2 = 156.25

I understand a ration of 10-1 is an absolute minimum with 50 to 75-1 preferred.

Is this a good pairing?

I'll just note that a typical SET amp drives a speaker with an impedance ratio of around 3:1 and sounds fine - so 10:1 is more nearly overkill than an "absolute minimum," at least in some cases.
