The first rock concert I attended was Blue Oyster Cult at the Long Beach Arena in 1974.
The opening act?
The Eric Burdon Band.

Damn, it must have been '73, I do remember I was in 8th grade. The '70s were a blur - I started young, HaHaHa.

Hey Karl, My first concert was BOC at the Nassau colosseum in 1978, we got there late and missed the opening act.
I went to quite a few concerts in the day and that BOC show was the loudest concert of them all. The highlight was the extended drum solo in Godzilla where the drummer wore a huge Godzilla head. Ahhh those were the days, loud music, unregulated lasers and the second hand smoke high because 50% of the audience was smoking weed. Not that we would ever contribute to that.
Nice call seeing BOC with Eric Burdon. About 15 years ago I saw Soft White Underbelly ( BOC when they played locally ) with
Ray Manzarek on keyboards. It was in a dinner club in Huntington Long Island. Budweiser cans $3 Heineken cans $3 guess what we drank?
