Title: Quickie 1.1.1
Post by: Karl5150 on February 04, 2022, 09:05:22 AM
As documented elsewhere on the forum I run a passive switching/volume & balance control into my strapped Seductors. While fine for my CD player, it lacked oomph with my vinyl setup - a perfect excuse to rebuild my quickie.
I built it on a panel to fit beside the Reduction in the double-wide base. (Built years ago as a home for my original Reduction>SEX2 setup) One of the passive's outputs bypasses the vol/bal controls so those are controlled from the Quickie.
Guess I need to update my equipment list/chain...again.

I built a combo Quickie and Quicksand (https://www.diyaudiogallery.com/#/bottlehead-quickie-quicksand-by-jameson-o/) a couple years ago. Yours looks much nicer.

Thanks, those custom FPE panels make it easy to dress up the builds.
Did you fabricate the 2x panel (I don't see a seam)? With that Red/Yellow color scheme you'll have to work at misplacing it!
My tool battery powered Quicksand sees its share of use in the garage.

At the time if you ordered a Quickie and a Quicksand at the same time you had a higher likelihood of getting matching plates. Those are the stock plates sitting in a Kaiju (?) chassis that I added a middle support to.

But yeah, very high viz color scheme with those batteries.
