Title: Moreplay Versus Foreplay III
Post by: greg788 on June 24, 2022, 02:55:58 AM
Has anyone compared the Moreplay Versus Foreplay III? What are your thoughts on the sonic differences between them? Is the Moreplay obviously superior in any way (noise floor, imaging, tonality, etc.) or just different?

The Moreplay should be quieter, especially into power amps with high gain an/or high efficiency speakers.

I would say, yes, the Moreplay is superior in pretty much every way to FPIII. I don't have a lot of issue switching between a Moreplay and a BeePre2 aside from that lovely weight that the BeePre adds. In terms of clarity and natural sound I think the Moreplay is very close, much closer than the FPIII. I would say it is most likely due to the fact that both Moreplay and BeePre2 are single gain stage designs without the added cathode follower impedance compensation of the FP.

Do these differences also apply to the extended Foreplay 3? Thanks.

Yes, they apply.
