Title: Volume Pot Model
Post by: jufelling on October 27, 2022, 03:54:50 AM
Hey there,

can someone tell me which exact volume pot model is used in the S3X Amp?
Like manufacturer and modeltype?

I‘m asking because I‘ll upgrade to a stepped attenuator and for the manufacturer of this stepped attenuator it’s important to know what the log curve is.

Maybe the manufacturer of the original pot in the S3X amp has a data sheet.

Best
Julian

I looked at the datasheet for the pots we provide and there is no drawing of the specific curve for the pot, but there is a standard audio taper curve for a logarithmic potentiometer (type A).

A manufacturer of stepped attenuators should know this and should not be asking these questions of you (in 25 years of doing this, this is the first time I can recall something like this coming up).  There's potentially a red flag here, proceed with caution!

Alright, thank you Paul :-)
I will proceed with caution indeed!
