Anybody have experience with the Technics SL-100C? I have been looking for a new turntable for a while, and have a London Maroon cartridge I want to use. The Technics SL-100C has adjustable VTA and also the tonearm height is adjustable, so it looks like a good candidate. Anybody have experience with this table? Was looking at the SL-1500C also, but it has a built in preamp, and I already have an external one. No sense buying something I won't use. Also, the 1500C has a more expensive cart, which I also won't use. Maybe if there was a 100C option for no cartridge??

If this London is technically similar to the originals, arm compatibility was always a problem. I'm sure there are London forums out there which will have info about modern TT's that can be used. A TT + arm is more likely to be suggested than an integrated one with much debate about the flavour of the week.

So are you suggesting a separate tonearm and deck? I haven't ever looked at this option, what companies sell them?

Google "best TT and arm for London cartridge". Be prepared for less than definitive answers. The original London was normally used with a London uni-p[vot arm. Not many of those around now.

I found a site where a London cart is used on a 1200GR. The 100C arm should be nearly if not identical.

I have 4 Technics tables including a 1200GR.
The 100C came along later but if I was starting out and wanted a DD table, that would be the one I'd buy. Awesome motor tech in that table and the missing dj features make it a powerful but no frills table.
Some of the carts I use are Denon DL-103, 103R, and 301 Mkii. Nagaoka MP-200, Audio Technica VM760SLC, VM740ML. All are fantastic in their own way and would work great with 100C.

Some good Black Friday savings to be had on the 100C if you look around and are looking for one of these.

I've seen the article on the 1210GR. Looks like a great option, better save up all my pennies lol. Was hoping to find something more like $1k. The 100-C might be the best option. Maybe if I could return it if it didn't work with the London?
