I’m slimming down my audio equipment but would like to keep a headphone setup. I have a crack w/ sb that pair well but I like the idea and versatility of using the stereomour if a resistor setup would yield as good or better results.
The stereomour2 has been converted to 45 ,d.c filaments ,shunt reg, sowter opt’s ( 4K 8/16 ohm )
Any real world experience or advice is appreciated. Thanks. Mike

How is the noise floor with the Sowter transformers in that orientation? That is certainly the quieter of the possible orientations, but headphone use will depend on what's coming out of the speaker jacks.
As an experiment, you could clip lead the speaker taps to the headphones you want to use as an experiment to double check for proper operation.

The amp is dead quiet with speakers. Klipsch heresy 1. 95 db@1 watt per m

Nice, are these the 5k Sowter parafeed transformers?
I converted my Stereomour2 to 45 tubes and thought about trying the Sowter outputs

Yes they’re parafeed & they sound great I had them wound for 4K instead of 5 for my original paramours, before I converted the stereomour to 45’s & canalized them. The paramours became 2a3/40’s - 300 b’s w/ tfa 2004’s
