Title: DC filament polarity quesstion.
Post by: Mucker on January 22, 2024, 11:05:05 AM
I do a bit of researching of the forums here and came across a thread in the Kaiju forum about when using the DC filament to wire the tube sockets at different polarity and then swap the tubes annually. Does this apply to Stereomour and how important is this? There is no mention of it in the DC filament manual so I assumed it to not be critical. I know the Kaiju is 300B but it seems that 2A3 would be the same??? Thank you.

Yes, the same theory applies.

No, it's not "critical" in either amp, but the effect is about half as much in the 2A3 amp, since the filament voltage is half as great.

Awesome. Thanks PJ!

EDIT: I just checked my wiring and both sockets were wired the same (randomly) so ended up switching the wire pair at the board on one side.
